Michigan Company Expanding In High Point – wfmynews2.com

HIGH POINT, NC — Cascade Die Casting Group, Inc., an automotive components supplier with headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan – will expand at its two locations in south High Point.
The manufacturer will create 25 new full-time jobs and add $6 million to the High Point tax base. The company currently has 184 employees in High Point.
Cascade Die Casting Group’s recent growth has come primarily from the products it makes for the automotive industry. The High Point facilities also supply the non-automotive off-road vehicle, lawn and garden power equipment, and power tool industries.
Its two High Point facilities are located at 1800 Albertson Rd. and 501 Old Thomasville Rd. As part of the expansion, a new building will be constructed at the Albertson Rd. facility.
“Our company is pleased to announce that we have chosen High Point for our expansion project,” said Phil Torchio, Chief Operating Officer for Cascade. “Over the years we have successfully grown our operations in High Point and look forward to that growth continuing. We worked closely with the staff of the High Point Economic Development Corporation and thank them and the city officials who helped partner with us to make this expansion possible.”
The expansion will include increasing both die casting and machining capacity, while the new building at the Albertson Rd. facility will include a larger tooling repair shop and technical center.
The major products made at the High Point facilities are various automotive and non-automotive driveline housings and brackets, engine covers, electronic heat sinks, housings, and more.
Cascade Die Casting Group, Inc. was founded in 1978 and is still under the guidance of its original ownership – with approximately 400 employees in North Carolina and in Michigan. In addition to the two locations in High Point, the company has locations in Sparta, Michigan, and Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Loren Hill, president of the High Point Economic Development Corporation, said, “We are proud that Cascade Die Casting Group chose High Point after considering expansion options in Michigan and in Mexico. It is very good news that the company continues to invest in our city while adding quality manufacturing jobs for our residents.”
The High Point City Council authorized performance-based incentives for this expansion project on March 16, 2015. If the company meets all of the benchmarks outlined in a performance agreement, it could receive up to $75,000 in installment payments over a four-year period.
Cascade Die Casting Group will hold a job fair for persons interested in working at its High Point facilities. Details will be announced within the next two weeks.
